win 2k client / server update downloads

Aloha fellow computer Techs!

Yikes, 2k support is coming to an end on June 30th. While our office has upgraded to xp one can never be to certain if a 2k install is needed in the future.

While support is ending and only security updates will be available, is there a site where I could download all the 2k updates, patches and security updates for future use?

While I do have the mass database of all the updates to push to the clients, I find it difficult and time consuming to review each in the list and move to a library.

Have you thought about building a SUS box? This will cache all the fixes, and give you control of what to pass down. Group policy can help push these down to selected clients.

Just a thought.

Scottie, thank you for the suggestion. All the win2k files are downloaded but are mixed with the xp, 2003, 9x and 2k files. The 2k server and clients are non-existant currently. I'm looking for a quick download of the files then creat a dvd library of only 2k files.

Recently, a friend needed help with a 98se computer. While outdated; his system is limted but does the tasks he needs. Wiping, reload and updating was simple with the file library of 98se.

Returning to the SUS server... it caches the hotfixes, ect in a cabs directory. Each exe, cab is named pretty clearly what OS it applies to. This would be a start to copy off all 2k-sp1,sp2,sp3,sp4 fixes to a directory to be burned.
As for a site that actually holds all the fixes grouped by OS, ??? MS is the keeper of the hotfix.. (and they keep a lot of them! ~ )

Again, Just a thought.
