I have a new 20gb USB hard drive and win 2000 recognizes it and loads the drivers. The problem is the drive light does not go out and I cannot access the drive at all. It doesn't assign a drive letter to the drive. The drive is a FUJITSU model mht2020at notebook hard drive installed in a Mobile Disk USB case. Any help would be appreciated.

You need to right click "My Computer" and select manage. From there go to disk management and right click on the new drive. Choose the options that are given to you. You should get an option to assign a drive letter.
