Hi,
Have just installed win 2000 server - applied plain text passwds fix and service packs but still can't logon to sun samba lan server - win 2000 prof worked ok.
Any clues?

With Win2k the main problem almost always points to DNS misconfiguration.

But since you're mentioning SAMBA you should post your Samba.conf file so people can get an idea of what you are talking about. The problem could be anything from a weirdly configured config file to not having added the users to the passwd file for Samba. J.R. Juiliano

I had some difficulties getting SAMBA to work. Make sure that NetBIOS Services are running on the Sun Box. Don't know much about SUN. My config is on a Linux 7.0 server. But the problems I was having is because smbd and nmbd were not loaded on the nix box. Once I start them, and then started SAMBA on that server I was able to connect with no problem.
