Win 2000 Server License Issue

I would like to have some information regarding win2k Licensing.

If I were to use VMWARE to split a server into 3 partitions.
All 3 are running Win2k servers.

Do I pay for 3 separate server licenses?

As I recall, the license for Win2k is for per machine.

In my case, there is only 1 machine but 3 Win2k partitions running concurrently.

Can anyone shed some light?

Virtual machine is considered an independent one. Anyway, think about integration of them, they are different entities. Licensing in AD will be represented per machine (machine=virtual macine too). Gia Betiu
