Here's the scenario -

1 120GB HD partitioned 90/25/5 (GB)
Win 2000 was loaded on part 1
Red Hat 9 was loaded on part 2
- Part 3 was swap drive
Using GRUB as bootloader

I had a problem connecting to the internet, some sort of Windows Management (WMI?) thing that I don't know much about. M$ says to reload win 2k on the computer. I did, and now I lost the bootloader screen.

The partitions and the data are there, but they do not show up as drives in fdisk. Can I use Partition Magic (or another program, suggestions?) to 'fix' this without reloading Linux? I would like to exhaust my other options before I do that again.

You might be better posting this in the linux forum - you need to reload the GRUB bootloader - 2k reinstall has written a standard MS mbr - overwriting the GRUB code in there (have played with various linux disros - but am just a linux novice). I know some linux installs offer the option to reload the bootloader (and some will do an upgrade reinstall) - and I'm pretty sure Googling will turn you up some instructions.

You could also try
Good luck - I wouldn't try messing with partitions - its just the bootloader in the mbr you've lost.

PS. Might be worth using a tool that can backup/restore mbr or whole track0 if you're going to carry on with this dual boot - my favourite boot loader can do this (among many other apps). Also you could use boot-us to multi-boot - you'd need to install Grub into the partition boot sector rather than the mbr (which would be safer, from overwriting).
