Recently I installed an AOpen M56-PX modem on my Win 2000 Professional system. The modem seemed to set up OK and when I log on it goes through the connection process OK also. At the end it says: "Registering the computer on the network" and up comes the blue screen, which quickly goes black and I have to reboot the machine. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

disable auto-reboot on error in my computer-start and recover.
check event viewer for error msg.
verify that u have all sp´s installed (blaster worm....)
get a up to date antivirus and a personal firewall.
google for the stop error msg (BSOD)
check modem log.

Thank you for this reply Lemon13. Problem is that I am a newbie when it comes to delving around in the innards of the operating system.

Since my firs email though, I have been able to get the error message that it gives out when it goes to the blue screen:

STOP:0x000000D1 (0x00000024, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0xBFF1A959)
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

All of which means absolutely nothing to me ... :)
