Hi,
I'm looking for an alternative to the Avaya 3645 IP wireless phone. Is it possible to use an IP wireless phone from another manufacturer on an Avaya system?
On the DevConnect site, you will find interop documents for SIP-based handsets from Spectralink and Ascom. As noted above, you will need a Session Manager for the SIP connectivity.
Keep in mind you may loose some features if your 3645's are H.323. SIP phones from another manufacturer only support the 19 features defined in RFC 3261 when used on Session Manager.
You can use an Analog cordless phone like the ones used in homes. It can receive caller-ID as well. We use them on our data center floor so techs can move around.
