Does the enabling of the Windows 2000 diskperf utility to monitor logical disks adversely affect the performance of today's modern and faster servers? With NT 4.0 it was recommended not to use it unless necessary, but I have not found any information that states that it degrades performance on Windows 2000 servers using the faster, modern servers that are available today. Has anyone ever tested this? Thx!

Yes, you will take a performance hit but it all how noticeable it is depends on what your hardware is and what applications you are running. On a fairly new desk top using normal business apps you will never know. On an older data base server you might see quite a hit.

Start it up, log the data you need and turn it back off.
