Hi,
i don't know this should be an Excel question or CR question. The problem is that after i export the report to excel, the filter in excel doesn't work.

ex: cust custname
1 hihi

2 heehee

3 byebye

while u insert "Filter" into custname column in excel, it should list hihi, heehee, byebye.. however, it "ONLY" list hihi, NO heehee nor byebye.. the only reason i can think of is because there are lines space in between rows.

if so, does anyone has any suggestion as to how to get rip the line spacing in CR or how to do the "filter" in excel..

please be advice.. tahnsk for those who help.. this is pretty important... many many many many thanks..

If your export to Excel gives you unwanted blank rows, then you need to tweak the report layout to stop it doing this. Also check if you have the latest dlls and patches: export for Crystal 8.5 was signficantly improved this year. See also thread149-181680 for some tips on improving the quality of export.

More likely it is the layout of the report, and because Crystal has MERGED cells in Excel.

Filtering doesn't stop working because there are rows between items.

Make sure that the alignment is spot on when placing fields, and also apply the service packs for whatever version of Crystal that you use (more recent versions do a better job).

Testing the export as you construct the report will also help quite a bit.

Also posting what version of Crystal that you're using will help identify problems.
