will an IP 1230 phone work with BCM50 version 1 3

I am trying to install 5 new 1230 IP phones on a BCM50 version 1.00.2.04.j and they are getting an IP address from the BCM but are not registering. I can't find a guide at nortel.com that says if they are compatible. Anyone know the answer?

These will be the only IP phones on the system.

Won't work. You need to be on R3 or higher

Unfortunately not. Only supported on Release 3.0 and above.
