Hi i have a Motherboard with a 4x AGP graphics slot and i have purchased a Geforce 4 Ti 4200 graphics card and it is a 8x AGP card and i have put the card in and my computer will not run with it is that card not compatible with my motherboard or is it that i had an onboard video before this and i need to disable it?? As with the video card in my computer it will not start up at all and i have no screen on my video card or on the onboard video?? Any ideas on how to fix it?? Thanks.

Most video cards that I have seen that are 8x can run 8x or 4x, however, you should read the box/manual that came with your video card or perhaps visit the manufacturer's website and see what they have to say.

Looking in either of those places should give you the answer you seek.

Good luck!

Which version of Windows are you using? If you're using Win98 or later, you should be in decent shape. That's because they're configurable so you can use both video cards, if you have two monitors. If you do NOT want to use 2 monitors, then disable your onboard video.
I just bought and installed an Asus GeForceFX 5200 AGP card that runs with no problems at all.

Let me know if there is more I can do for you.
