Will a 616 DS DR5 cart work in a 616 with DR2

Hello,

I'm wondering if a Norstar 6x16 DS DR5 software cart will work in a 6x16 that has currently DR2.

Yes.

No. If it's a regular DR5 it will work, but the DR5-DS will just flash forever. The DR5-DS must be used in a 616 DS control unit.

cabinet must be ds for dr5 ds to work, like exmogger stated ive too had the same problem w phones constantly flashing.

They're right, you need to open the cabinet and look to see if it's DS. With DR2 in it, it's probably not.

Or you could pick up a CICS really cheap online. The phones are all compatable, and you've got a new system, not an old refurb.
