Is there a way to make wildcard entries work with IIS 5 and host headers? Since a website only responds to the inputted host header names it has in IIS, any non listed host name will not resolve.

Any experts on this?

The simplest way is to have your one website with no host header and set up as a portal, Then with your DNS entry set so thisdomain.com and specific alias names ( etc) point to your IP then anything.thisdomain.com would always resolve to your IP, and if you had no host header that matched it would go to the default site.
There you could get really clever with a script trying 'pattern' matching and conditional redirects or you could just have a 'doorway' page of links into your various sections\sites.

Chris.

Indifference will be the downfall of mankind, but who cares?

Thanks for the help...

It sounds like that's as close as we can get.

Cheers!
