I HAVE THE MASK "CANC". BUT AT RUNTIME THE A & C'S ARE DISPLAYED AS WILDCARDS WHICH I DONT WANT. I JUST NEED CANC DISPLAYED IN THE MASK

C and A have special meanings in the Mask string (see VBhelp for details) you will need to use \ (backslash) as an escape character to get C and A into a mask string. For example:

\C\AN\C###

as a MaskString will show as CANC and allow 3 digits to be added

It does on my version of VB6 - I tried it before I posted. And please don't SHOUT!

My Apologies. Had a rogue bit of code in the Form Load. Never shouted just left the caps lock on. Cheers

You're welcome - and thanks!
