Wildcard Cert and Importing

We are transitioning from Exchnage 2003 to Exchange 2010. We have purchased and installed a new wildcard certificate on our 2010 server and its working. We need to import that certificate onto our 2003 server for OWA. However, when I export from exchange 2010 and import, the certificate appears to be ok but when i browse to the owa website on the 2003 owa I get page cannot be displayed. If i revert back to the original certificate it works (however i get a security error as the original has expired)

What am I missing?
