I am running apache on NT and am having a difficult time figuring out how to set up a wildcard port. I've read the apache docs and can't seem to get it to work. Anybody have insight on this or on WildCard subdomains? - tleish

Hi,

Not sure what you mean by wildcard ports. The TCP ports on which apache listens are controlled by the 'Listen' directive in httpd.conf and you can set as many you like :

Listen 80
Listen 8080
Listen 81
etc., etc.

See -->
For virtual hosts, wildcards make more sense. There is a technique called mass name-based virtual hosting that uses substitution variables in path names, etc., and is explained here --> . See also -->
Hope this helps
