Hi, I'm having an issue with spectralink wireless phones losing their registration on an IP Office 500V2 11.1.3, it works fine for a day/week or even a month then I get reported issues. The system status shows it's registered to the proper IP address. Rebooting the phone fixes the issue. I'm a little stumped as to why it is doing this and it happens to multiple phones. Has anyone had a similar issue?

401 Unauthorized" is slightly misleading in name. Its used as a standard SIP server response to a phone asking to register, basically its the server saying it needs to receive some authorization details to allow the registration to proceed any further, and including a nonce to be used by your phone to encrypt and send those details.

So the trace shows the IP Office responding immediately to the phone wanting to register, and then repeated the request 5 times at roughly 1 second intervals. Its waiting for something from the phone. The other possibility is that the IP Office responses are not getting back to the phones. In the latter case that means looking at all the routing devices between the phones and the IP Office, something not seeing enough regular options keepalives to keep a connection open.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.
