Hi Guys

I am in the market for some WiFi dect phones,
Now firstly, i'm not sure if they are any good, I used some on IPECS kit a year or two ago and they were absolutely trash,
I see Grandstream have the GRANDSTREAM WP820 which looks promising, has anyone used this sort of phone and have any positive experiences?
The building it will be going into will have very good WiFi coverage with a Ubiquiti WiFi solution

WiFi and DECT are two separate technologies. DECT is a wireless standard mainly for cordless phones. A DECT base may connect to an analog phone line or a SIP server. DECT has good range, but you can also get DECT repeaters to extend the range.

A WiFi handset, like the WP820 relies totally on your WiFi infrastructure.
A DECT handset relies on it's DECT connection to the base or the nearest repeater.

We're in a 12,000 square foot concrete building. I'm currently using a Yealink W60B DECT base with 8 W56H handsets. The W60B base can handle 8 handsets, 8 SIP accounts and 8 concurrent calls. We bought a RT30 DECT repeater, but we found out that limited the number of handsets and concurrent handsets to 2, which killed the deal. We ended up having good enough range with just the base, so we ditched the repeater. We needed to have up to 8 people carrying phones monitoring the same couple of SIP lines, so this worked out good. I haven't touched it since we got it all setup over a year ago. The handsets are holding up better than our old Panasonic DECT system and the system has better range.

Ascom do a good WiFi DECT - Yes it is a separate Name but most people would call it that.
The Ascom is a SIP handset
