On occasion when I wake my MacBookPro from sleep, the screen is muddled an pixilated and just onhte top two inces of the visible display.

If I shut the lid and wait, sometimes it rectifies itsels, and other times I need a re-boot to sort it out.

Any ideas? It's spoiling my "My Mac is better cos I don't have to wait for it to boot" argument... [wink]

The Apple forums suggest that it is a hardware issue, but I'm not too sure.

Boo.

That's not good then. I'll be emailing apple support and seeing what gives....

Thanks Mike

Update to this - I installed the latest firmware upgrade from the apple site, as it said it dealt with some problems on waking from sleep, and I thought it was worth a go...

And I've had no problems since. So - fingers crossed...

Good news.

Just out of interest Fee, How do you find the MBP compared to you old machine?

It's certainly seems faster - I like the new OS (was using 10.3 before) and I guess I'm not sure what is diifferent due to OS and what to hardware.

It's very pretty though... ([/end girlie mode] and the glosst screen is EXCELLENT both for messing with photo's / video / graphics generally and for using in some sunlight without losing all ability to see anything..

Um... I had a 12" powerbook before, so the things like a backlit keyboard and the wiide screen I didn't have before either.

I'm very fond of it though. I heard so much bad press about noisiness and heat and batterylife, and I haven't had prolems with any of those at all. This was my only issue, and it hasn't happened since the firmware upgrade.
