Using IE6.0.2 with Win98, I have started to get a really wierd effect when entering a address to go to a website. The addressbar starts flashing with lots of strange text, and the progress-bar at the bottom of the window also flashes continuously. The requested page is never displayed.
The only way I have found to stop this effect is to right-click with the pointer over the blank page, and various addresses I can read in the address-bar are;
I can't understand why my requested URL has to go via a query-string passed to another site. It may be irrelevant, but my dial-up software was setup automatically by the NTL (my ISP) setup software.
I reinstalled an older version (IE6.0.0), but this made no difference.
Any help would be appreciated.
