Does any one know why a width set in pixels for a div is a different size in NS and IE.

And while I am asking does anyone know how you make a NS layer-background-color display over the whole width of the div rather than just over the contents of the div, or is that just a dream. I can not seem to get that to work in NS although it works fine in IE5. I tried to look at the netscape site where they have some examples but my NS kept having problems viewing the examples so I looked at them with IE which of course does not help because it does it right.

Well I solved the difference in width problem by nesting my div tag inside a layer tag. Thankfully there are not many of them that I need to do this for (just 2). So for now I guess that I will just use that to get by.

So I guess in the end I just had a situation where it looked like different widths because of the different way the two browsers handle the background color.

Sorry to all for the post, I should have tried a few more things before posting, oh well........ [sig]<p>Crystal<br><a href=mailto:crystals@genesis.sk.ca>crystals@genesis.sk.ca</a><br><a href= > </a><br>--------------------------------------------------<br>
