I have shot all my footage in widescreen format and edited it all together in Premiere with widescreen settings yet when I transfer to VHS it gets streched out to full screen and cuts off some of the sides. Is there a tool in premiere to create sidebars (top, bottom, left right)? Or anything I am doing wrong?

right click on the video you put in and go to video, then there's an aspect ratio option. that should stop your video from getting stretched.
