Hi all,

I'm attempting to create a Java application (5 servlets) to be installed on Windows (98, NT or 2000).

I'm developing it by using Sun's JDK 1.3, and I would like to know wich the fastest JRE to run my application on is.

Is IBM's better on Windows?

Thank you very much.

You should be using Sun Microsystems' JRE. Something higher than 1.3.0_01, which is what I've had for about half a year. X-) "and everything under the sun is in tune

Why should we only use Sun's JRE? IBM's JRE performs much better in a lot of cases, especially Swing Apps. I venture to say IBM is a bigger Java shop than even Sun. Just take a look at the Application Server market, it is dominated by two Companies: BEA and IBM.

Also as I mentioned in a previous thread, Jikes blows away Javac.

Still, Sun created Java. You will probably have less general problems with their software. Not that I accualy know this, I'm just guessing. Sun creates Java, so I use their JDK. Makes sense. At least to me, and many others. "and everything under the sun is in tune

Why don't you go ask the people at the Sun Java Forum in the JDK section about this? X-) "and everything under the sun is in tune
