Hi all,

Running exchange 2000, W2K SP3. I had several mails hanging in my outbound smtp queue for hotmail servers. From my Websense (content filter) logserver I saw constant attempts to access these servers using fasttrack/kazaa protocol. Because my websense server blocks these protocols, the mail was just stuck. I deleted the queue and things freed up and the logged attempts to use kazaa went away.

I realize that several trojan/viruses try to proliferate using the kazaa protocol, but I don't understand how they would have made it into the smtp queue of my exchange server.

this morning, i noticed my mail server using MSN messenger protocol to attach to a yahoo mail server.

Has anyone else seen this kind of thing?

I forgot to add, I run NAV for exchange, and Symantec Enterprise on the server (do not scan or use real time protection on the M drive). I ran a full system scan and it came up clean.

I also ran adaware and it found nothing other than two pesky data miners...
