Hi all,

When a user started her computer the NT didn't start... right after making an autck the dump physical page started and you had to restart. But then again and again.

I reinstall all the NT but I lost ALL the software configuration and Users configurations so I had to reinstall all the software.

Do you know why this happened? Is there a file like *.da0 like win95 so I can use to reload the software and users configuration?

Thanks!

without more info I can't tell you what caused the error, but I may be able to offer suggestions. . .

If you get a memory dump on boot try to boot in "vga mode." this is NT's equivelent of safe mode. If you still can't boot, try using the "space bar to enter last known configuration" If you can get in either of these ways you have a chance of repairing the problem. If you are interested in the settings and configuration, most of the settings are under \winnt\system32\config. I have sucessfully restored a few machines by recovering a backup of that directory. . .but that will work only in very specific cases. David Moore
