Why nohup doesn't work for specific app, how to solve

In Solaris 2.6,
We have a 3rd party software, when I
do
" #nohup /opt/local/3rd_party_soft_dir/the_app &"
when I exit from root, the_app process will stop too,

but "nohup" work well for other Solaris command ,
any of you have same experience, Could you
give suggestions
