Why my Alt + Tab shortc to toggle between apps won't work as usual? 2

Before I used to be able to take my time choosing what app I wanted to land on while still holding Alt, then pres Tab once per app, and finally let go when I had found the app I wanted.
Now, as soon as I make a "one second" pause while still holding Alt, it drops me where ever it at that time (usually not the app I want).

Any idea how to correct this?
It's silly in a way, but VERY annoying in another way too!

Try the WINKEY + TAB
