Why Linksys router slow DSL?

Hi Every one:
I used a Linksys router and a switch to connected my two Pcs to one DSL from Verizon. It worked well when there was not much traffic on the internet. However, the connection to internet became very bad when rush hours on the internet. Please help to solve this peoblem. Thanks

try adjusting the MTU setting of your router, usually when your using DSl, assign MTu size to 1492, and when using a cable modem, assign 1500,and you may want to try port forwarding the port of the site you want to access.

jmmc, what on earth are you talking about re: port forwarding? Port forwarding is only used for incoming connections to connect though the Linksys to your PCs behind it. Common applications are games and file sharing programs.
