Hello,
I work on a LAN (Windows 2000 server domain).
I have always used in my Compaq Desktop Evo D310 the Power on Password.
From yesterday when I try to enter the Passw I found the keyboard locked and only Ctrl+Alt+Canc is able.
I've downloaded and installed the Bios update but nothing to do.
I have to remove a jumper on the motherboard to reset the PoweronPassw.
I found the same problem on other 3 Compaq Evo D310 on the LAN and 2 Compaq D530 too.
What could be happened ?
Is it possible a virus ?
Thanks.

Hi,

I don't know that model exactly, but if the keyboards connect through USB rather than PS/2 ports, I would check the BIOS settings to make sure that Legacy USB device support is enabled, to allow the BIOS to initialise and communicate with those devices.
