Why is this a disaster in NN 6.x 1

This page works fine in IE on PC's, but the layers are not showing up right at all in NN 6.2 and on some MACS.

What is it?

One thing I notice when I run it under Mozilla is that it looks different until I do the mouseovers. Well, near as I can tell, anyhow. That suggests to me that your mouseout events are fine, as are your mouseovers, but that setting up the page is where the ball is dropped.

I would compare all the events of your onload event to the events described in your onmouseout, paying special attention to CaSe (as Netscape and many Macs are case sensitive) and paths. Try working with only a single element until you've got the problem nailed down.

Thanks for those tips.

For others in this boat, here are a few things I have discovered that have been helpful. I do not know Javascript, so I have to trouble shoot in a more trial and error way.

1. I redrew my layers in Dreamweaver using the Draw Layers command rather than Insert Layers Command. It seems to position the <div> tag better

2. Make sure the pixel width of the layer is an exact match of the contents of the layer.

3. If there is a table inside the layer, make sure it is in pixels and not percentages if the layer is in pixels.

4. I removed any height attributes in the layers.

5. I changed the # links to javascript:;

6. I changed any 'on clicks' to (On Click)

7. I removed the URL from the doctype totally

I'm not sure which of these did the trick, being an impatient detective, but it seems to be working now.
(Still in test phase -- layer not lined up, etc)

but for now, working!
