Hello,

I am using EPO version 3.0 with Virusscan version 7.1.
EPO is updating my clients from 4.50 to version 7.1 without any problems.........except that the scan engine is not being updated from 4.2.6o to 4.3.20.

The 4.3.2 scan engine has been checked into the repository and is set as current in the Manage Packages view....... why is it not being pushed to clients ?
Do i need to create a separate task for this ?
I tried to do this, but when i go to the Schedule Task option, THe only task type i see for Virusscan 7.1 is ON Demand Scan. Am i missing something here ?

Thanks in advance !

After the VSE upgrade have you ran a task for AutoUpdate? The engine will be installed from there.

Thanks But, i dont see an autoupdate task for the software VirusScan Enterprise 7.1.

Am i looking in the correct place ?? I can see an autoupdate task, auto upgrade task and an On Demand scan task for NetShield v4.5 but only the On Demand Scan task for VirusScan Enterprise 7.1.

Do i need to install something additional ?

Thanks

You can create a task for Software: McAfee AutoUpdate and Task: Update.

With VSE 7 they split up the update feature into it's own section.

With ePo 3.0, you use the agent update task to perform updates for VirusScan.

The scan engine is in the update package from ePo since one week.
Since 4322, all VirusScan products will be updated at the new scan engine if you use a "Global Update Task" in ePo 3.0.1. It's an agent Task, not a virusscan task.

Sorry for any misinfo I should have read the post more clearly. I use ePo 2.5.1 and it sounds like 3 is a little different.

I had this problem and it was related to the SP state of w2k. I applied or reapplied SP4 and the engine updated ok at the next login.
