The scenario:

I have 38 servers - 34 run win2k or NT. I have 4 servers running Novell. In this bunch, I have an Exchange server and 4 machines running databases. I purchased Veritas 5.0 to go along with my Dell Powervault tape library. I want to create a simple backup plan to backup ALL of my servers from a backup machine that's going to hang off of the Powervault tape library. Each time I go in to create a backup policy so that a backup can run, it fails! HOW THE HELL DO YOU START A BACKUP WITH THIS DAMN SOFTWARE? Step 1, to the end?

Have you even tried reading the manuals to get this going?

Also this is in the Backup Exec forum, you may want to post to the Netbackup forum.

From what I have seen of it, Netbackup is a beast of a program, trully meant for enterprise level heterogenous(is that spelt right?) networks.

Maybe you should send it back and get something a little less complicated?
