Why is my XP taking so long to shut down?

My shut down seems to hang sometimes and not shut itself down (it will hang at the 'saving settings' screen - and other times it shuts right down - I dont get it. Any ideas? thx.

Do you have numerous Warnings in the Event Viewer about userenv) User Profile and unloading a Registry? If so you can try this program.
