i am simply trying to output a sequence, and my final quicktime file looks very juddery.

the output movie is PAL and needs to be imported into final cut pro to be exported to DV.

i am quite new to after effects, and think it might be a video field issue.

has anyone had this before?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

love charlotte.

You are correct in thinking that it is a video field issue. Try experimenting with the different settings for field order in your render settings. Upper field first or lower field first. If you are still having trouble then look at the "interpret footage" - "main" dialog box under "File" when you have your footage file highlighted. Try switching this over and try all the combinations between different settings of upper and lower field order between both the interpretation of your imported footage, and the output field order. It sounds funny, but sometimes there dosn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the combination that finally works, except that you'll rember it for the rest of your life.
Good luck.
