Hi,
I'm very frustrated with how long it has been taking me trying to figure out how to get a shared printer working in a Micros POS environment. Very new to Micros and POS setups though and could use input.
They have a Micros 9700 EMC / Enterprise Management Console on their server and numerous Micros Workstation 5A stations.
At their bar they have a setup where if alcohol drinks are ordered from a POS at any location, the order ticket to make the item prints out at the bar (rather than in the kitchen like other items). I basically have been trying to copy that setup with different food items specific to outside setups like grilling burgers & hot dogs where the order tickets print outside. Everything seems setup well from what I can tell, but still I never see anything print outside for those food items. I can confirm though that if an order is placed at that outside POS it does print customer receipts fine (so physically printer <-> POS is working).
Also I can confirm for the food items being tested I'm on the 9700's correct configuration screen where you set the output printers to print to. I can check existing working shared printers in addition to this new one and the tickets will print at those existing stations, but not this new one. Then I can uncheck those working printers and see indeed they no longer print at those printers. So surely this is the right config screen.
I looked all over the POS and couldn't find any printer config stuff. On the 9700 EMC in the RVC Information section I go to Order Devices and a few times looked over closely the list and my new shared printer entry I added appears good and like just a copy of the style of the working printer at the bar.
What else could it be?? Any tips? At this point my customer was looking at having a Micros expert help, but he might not be available until next week and I offered a quicker option of maybe us trying to add an IP printer that connects directly to the network like they have working in the kitchen.
Thanks in advance for help.
