I'm using XP pro. In last half year, there was no problem at all. But since last week, after I installed some software(Visual C++ 6 etc.) then un-installed it and used Ghost to ghost by system back, my computer were always frozen. In the case when I sufer Internet for a while or when exit from game, it was just frozen. (the mouse is still in move, but can not do anything, no application can be run.) I'm using Norton Antivirus and Internet Security to prevent virus and attack. After checked couple of times for virus, nothing found.

Would you help me what cause this problem? Thank you!

To get further information about possible errors look in your Event viewer.

Look in the System or Application folder. You can get to the Event Viewer via right click My Computer icon and select Manage.

Any errors logged in the Event Viewer can be expanded by double clicking on the error line.

Take any event error I.D. number and search for it on these sites.

A visit to Windows Update in case you have mislaid any vital updates might help.

Try Safe Mode (Do you have this problem in Safe Mode?).

Try running ChkDsk to check your drive for errors. Right click your Drive icon/ Properties/ Tools/ Error Checking.

Run the System File Checker program from the Run Box by typing.....Sfc /Scannow in it and have your XP CD handy.

If they don't work you could try repairing windows itself by running it over itself. You will lose all your windows updates but your files will be untouched.
