Why is Internet Explorer 7.0 so slow

I was using Firefox, but that tended to make my computer hang at times, so I decided to switch to IE7.0 which doesn't hang, but there is always this 2 to 3 second delay. It is just slow when opening or browsing. I have a 1.6 GHZ AMD Sempron Mobile CPU and 512 MB in memory. Is it too little memory? How can I improve its workings? Tx

memory should be fine. probabaly just MS bloatware issues.


Were you using firefox 2.0 or 1.x?

I have it on all my computers and never had any issues with it (apart from sites that only work well with IE)

Do you have the Phishing Filter enabled? This may cause the slow response you are seeing.
