Why Flash Gallery works on Windows Svr Not Linux

I have created a web page that uses two Flash components, one a header and the other, a photo gallery. The header works well, but the gallery only appears when the site is on a Windows server (two different Windows servers), not when it is on Linux, which is where I want to be.
I have checked case on filepath.

I'd appreciate any insights as to why the site does not work properly on Linux.

if you point the url to the swf, the swf is there but it's blank - that's probably no xml is loaded.

Anyway I'd create a fresh swf, then add bit by bit to see where it breaks.
