Why filtering option Disabled??

Hi,

I am creating an impromptu report . I am using a a complicated query. So i have written the query in sql server and pasted the query in the report profiler sql option of a new report. Once i paste the query filtering option is disabled.I want to create a prompt need to filter based on this prompt. Since filter is disable i am not able to give the filter condition. i tried to appned the prompt filter in the query itself. Its giving me the error.

for eg like this

select * from emp where empno=?empno?
since the filter is disable i tried this way ...

any one of u can help me ...I am a biginner in Cognos reports

Jessy,
Unfortunately when you edit SQL in Impromptu, Impromptu loses the ability to effectively change the SQL and that includes filtering.
