Hi. My PIX515E works well before, even after I config the failover(it never happen before). But from Jun this year, failover happened almost 2 weeks for one time. I check the log but can't find reason. someone can help me what can cause the failover happen? And my primary is normal clock, but secondry is different clock. How can I fix it? THKS

To login to the CLI on a failover PIX use the following methods:

Primary : Console Port, TELNET or SSH (if configured)
Secondary: Console Port

I think that he's asking why the failover has occured. Not how to log into his pix.

:)

That's what I was referring to in my post... as far as failover goes, I've never had any experience with it... so only know what I've read.

Oh,

Maybe someone tripped over a cable and pulled it out thus causing the failover. It's happened here ;-)

I'm not sure what this means, but the primary Pix will not automatically become active when whatever caused the failover is cleared. It'll remain in the secondary role indefinitely. You can force it to become active, if you like.
