Why embedded to unembedded suddenly? 1

Hi,

I've been using PM 7 for about 6 months. We had a special
template set up by a pro for "placing" a book. Until now all went smoothly.

But today, I received an email from our printer to "re-upload the interior file--reason, font not embedded.

I've never had a problem. And I'm sure I didn't change anything in the template.

In Pagemaker, I set up the Book Pages: headers, page #'s, etc., and the actual text. Then export to .PDF (maybe 230 pages). THEN I separately do the Title Pages in PM, and export to .PDF. I then insert in front of the Book Pages. All worked well to this point previously.

Now, after uploading to our printer, I suddenly have our printer telling me the font is not embedded. I have no idea how this happened.

Here is what I see on File - Document Info - Fonts (on the good file)

AGaramond-Italic Type 1 Custom Embedded Subset Type 1
AGaramond-Regular Type 1 Custom Embedded Subset Type 1
AGaramond-SemiboldType 1 Custom Embedded Subset Type 1

Here is what I see on my newest "combined Title Pages and Book Pages" file:

AGaramond-Italic Type 1 Custom
AGaramond-Italic Type 1 Custom Embedded Subset Type 1
AGaramond-Regular Type1 Custom
AGaramond-Regular Type 1 Custom Embedded Subset Type 1
AGaramond-Semibold Type 1 Custom Embedded Subset Type 1

I can't figure where those two (#1 and #3 came from)!

Does anyone know how to get rid of them? Can I simply delete them somehow? They are not on the original template.

P.S. I did try several times recreating each separate file and combining. The same thing happened. I'm at a loss. Thanks for any help.

Try altering your Font Emedding options in Distiller to ensure that ALL fonts are embedded, not just a subset.

It will enlarge the PDF file size, but it's quality you're after.
