Sometimes my inkdropper behaves in strange ways. Mostly, I'll have an object selected, use the inkdropper tool to choose a colour, and nothing happens to the selected object's colour. The strange thin is that although the colour has not changed, my toolbar palette indicates that it has changed.

This only happens sometimes, usually when I've been grouping and using the pathfinder tool alot.

Any idea? This has been bugging me for aaages

Make sure you're on the same layer as you want to change colours on, and that the object's properties in appearance window is the same as the group it's connected to, otherwise you will have to cut paste in front to clear group objects appearance and re-apply the colour. 2nd make sure your preferences are set correctly (double click on eyedropper too).

The appearance window should help clear up your confusion, the only other time colours won't change is with fonts, and type, sometimes the colour doesn't take, it's a bug with the prog. make sure you clear appearance then choose or eyedrop colour.
