Windows Explorer on my Windows 2000 Professional machine continuously refreshes and can cause loss of focus on files so that I have to search for them each time. Is there a reason that this happens, and can it be resolved?

Thanks in advance.

Kevin

By refresh, do you mean the screen flickers? If so go into control panel, open display, select the settings tab, select the advanced option, select the monitor tab and bump up your refresh rate.
A wild stab into the dark.

The screen doesn't actually flicker, it is as if the refresh (F5) is being pressed every 5 seconds or so.

Hi - This is not just a Windows 2000 phenomenen. It can also happen in NT4 Windows Explorer.
Sorry, but don't know why.
