Why does the verify not run every day on BE 7.3

Heres the specs.
Dell Power Edge 6400
NT Server 4.0 sp6
Backup Exec 7.3

Heres the problem.
Althought the backup job is setup to run a verify for every job, the verify part of the backup job fails 2-3 times a week. Any idea why this is happening? Thanks for any help!!!

What are the event ID errors in the system and application event log?
What type of drive is the Device? eg. DLT,Dat etc.
Does the job complete after you eject the tape?

can you post the exact error you see in the job here? is it a CRC or i/o error? or does the job just say failed but there's no error in the log file? (search for 5 carat signs to find errors in the job log: ^ ^ ^ ^ ^)
