Why does my Photoshop 6 always use the A drive?

Anything that I try to do in Photoshop 6 always wants to use the A Drive...whether it be the last loading of the program or trying to open a photograph or going to options or even closing the program. I have the Save Palette Locations checked. I open a file from my hard drive and still it wants to check on the A drive first. When I toggel back to Photoshop, it first searches the A drive.
Any hints or clues here would be appreciated.
I've also reloaded the program and it does the same thing.

I don't have a clue, but I have had this problem in the past.

It was driving me crazy because it would take so long trying to read an empty drive.
I put a blank disk in the drive and then it only looked at it briefly and then moved on.
Eventually it stopped doing it, I don't know why, but it must be a Windows configuration problem.

I do remember that it started when I opened some files from floppies, after that it just kept looking for more.

Anyway all I can suggest is putting a blank disk in the drive and hope it gets the message.

I think this happens if the last file you opened/saved was to the A drive. Do what the previous poster suggested - put a floppy in the drive just to get past the first step, and then make sure that the next photoshop file you open and save is to the C drive. I think PS will 'remember' this next time.
