Hi, here's my problem:

I recently purchased a HP Pavilion laptop for college, it has the following specs:

1.6 ghz
256 DDram
32 mb ProSavage Video Card
30 gb hard drive

I bought a corded logitech usb optical mouse and installed it on my laptop. It worked well for a while until I tried to play Warcraft III with the mouse. Every 5-10 minutes, my mouse would freeze up for about 3-5 seconds (the light on the bottom of the mouse will blink out for the duration) and after it unfreezes a chime/ring would sound. However, on one notable occasion, the mouse froze permanently and stopped responding until I rebooted the computer.

I browsed the logitech website and found a few things I might want to try but I would greatly appreciate any advice or info you can provide.

Thanks for your time.

replace the batteries. I had the same thing every 2 seconds the mouse would freeze. I replaced the batteries and all was well. hope it helps
