Why does my chart legend put a $ in front of my values? 1

My chart legend is putting a $ in front of my values, even though the value is displaying correctly in the body of the report (ie nn.n)
 
Check the default values for numeric fields in your
File|Options menu. It could be that the default is set for currency and the fields were changed individually in the body of the report.

You should be able to change the format of the display in the legend using the chart analyzer. Right-click on the chart and pick analyzer.

I tried both suggestions, but neither worked. The default is set correctly, and the analyzer will only let me format the font, etc.
