Why does my BCM400 Backup fail? 1

I've scheduled daily backups for the BCM400 to start at 5:30pm. I keep getting errors saying that the backup of IVR and CallPilot applications failed.

This morning's backup reports:

ERROR: BRUBackup encountered an error while using a temp file or Insufficient Disk Space!

ERROR:a generic error in the BRUBackup file format was detected. Processing may have completed successfully anyway; some broken BRUBackup files created by other archivers have simple work-arounds.

I need help relative quick help to get this issue resolved.

If you are not using IVR or Multimedia call center, when you schedule your backup under (Select BCM components) try just highlighting Unified manager, Voice applications, and telephony. See if the backup runs then without errors.

I would take up that hint, however I've since encountered a new problem. I lost communications with the BCM after I got done setting up for Call Detail Recording and making modifications under BRU.

Where are you backing the BCM up to? A network share, FTP server or the BCM local E: drive?

Ensure that all the LED's are solid and not
flashing. If the LED's are flashing, then
your access to the machine will not work.

Beside the extreme right LED is a pin hole.
Using a thin object ( a toothpick or a paperclip )
push the reset button and reset the harddrive.
When the LED's become solid, then you should be
able to gain access.

I would only backup the portions that your machine
is using and ensure that the backup destination is
suitable for space and accessibility.

There are only 2 seasons in Canada, Golf and Snowmobile season.

My backup is to a network share on a WIN2003 server.

I also have solid green LEDS on the BCM. If I push that reset button, will it shut down telephony services while system access is restored, or will it only reset the communications port?

As soon as I am able to access the BCM, I will definitely redo my backup. Its frustrating to have to restart CallPilot every morning because that service does not restart after the backup process is complete.

In the meantime, I have internal customers locked out their mailboxes. How do reset mailbox passwords from an M7316E?

I've tried F981 and F982 both times entering the mailbox no. in question along with '0000' hoping to reset the mailbox password. Am I barking up the wrong tree or what Techies? Help!

If you need to reset the mailbox passwords you need to go in thru unified manager to Call Pilot click on add/delete mailbox, it will bring up a screen with all your mailboxes on it and you will see prompts after the mailbox number to reset the passwords. click on reset password and it will reset the passwords to all zero's.
