why does linux apache mqsql php not display £ sign and how to fix this

Hi,

We are running a linux system with Apache, MySQL and php running but it will not display £ signs on the site - cannot find any ref on web so far as to why or how to fix this, any one come accross this before - any tips greatly appreciated as our Linux chap has no idea.

I believe you need to look at the PHP setting "money_format". The issues you need to solve revolve around concepts of "localization"/"localisation".

Neither Apache nor MySQL typically influence this output, this should be a PHP matter.
