Why does Drag&Drop not work?

Drag & Drop doesn't work in my Win95 - what's
wrong?

may be a silly question but what is it not doing???

I meant I cannot drap and drop a file within in the Explorer, cannot move an
icon in my desktop window. Cut&Paste in the Explorer does work either.

And much worse: no error message at all.

OK, double-click still works - indicates the mouse lives

Was there anything that was done differently to the system before this started happening? did you install new software/hardware? Did you check to see if your mouse connection was loose? Did you run a virus scan?

You dont use user profiles on your machine do you?? As this would explain why you cant do many of these thing. If you are networked can you log on ok at another machine as you, or as another user on your machine??

Can you right click on your desktop, and select properties to change the desktop settings.

On your desktop how are the icons arranged, (Auto Arrange), this would explain not being able to move the icons, but I expect the icons and darg and drop are part of the same problem.

How do you cut and paste crtl+v / ctrl + c or right click and cut??
